Interest and Involvement Information
Here at Temple Beth El we value active participation and depend on each member to build and sustain our vibrant community. Our hope and expectation is that every member engages in meaningful ways and we believe that sharing our time and talents deepens connections and strengthens our community. Please tell us how you would like to help our community thrive.
Temple Beth El’s fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30. Dues will be prorated as the year progresses. Our community uses a Fair Share Dues Commitment system, suggesting 2% of your gross annual household income. You can be assured that you will never be asked to reveal your income. However, it is important to understand a Fair Share Dues Commitment system is based on the honor system and each member is asked to act in accordance with what he or she knows “is the right thing to do.” For this fiscal year, it will cost the Temple Beth El an average of $2,100 per membership unit to meet Temple’s operating budget.
We believe no one should be denied the opportunity to experience Jewish community for financial reasons. Please contact Temple Beth El’s Financial Secretary, Amir Sadovnik, at FinancialSecretary@tbeknox.org, with any questions or concerns.
If you are an active member of Heska Amuna or the Jewish Congregation Oak Ridge and are interested in a dual secondary membership at Temple Beth El, the minimum dues amount is $500.00 per family. You must be a member in good standing at your primary synagogue to be eligible for the reduced dual secondary membership minimum.
