Hillel at the University of Tennessee is a recognized student organization that gives Jewish students the opportunity to interact and be a part of a Jewish community on campus. We host a wide range of Judaic events, including Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and other social events. Additionally, Hillel at UTK serves to link students to Jewish life in Knoxville.

Our Mission: Enriching the lives of Jewish students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world.

Our Vision: We envision a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel.

Jewish students are invited to High Holy Day and Shabbat services at all of our local congregations. Please contact Hillel leadership for times, details, and transportation.

We have over 80 Jewish faculty members at UTK and each fall we host a special off-campus event for students and faculty to meet, network, and explore academic and professional opportunities.

Nearly one quarter of Jewish students throughout North America attend schools with small Jewish communities and limited resources.  The majority of funding for Hillel at UTK comes from the Knoxville Jewish Alliance Annual Campaign and grants from state Jewish federations. Donations also help Hillel to provide meaningful Jewish programming for on and off campus events.
